Ysart Brothers / Vasart Paperweight ?
« on: May 09, 2015, 04:23:47 PM »
I bought this not really having a clue who made it . Under a UV light glows a nice green which surprised me and I started thinking it may be Scottish (Ysart Brothers or Vasart) c1950's.

Any help in confirming ID would be much appreciated.

Ground out pontil mark.
Diameter 2 7/8"

Thanks Roy

I agree with Sophie. The basal rough grinding is a good initial indicator of the 1946-1955/6 period. The overall look is a second good indicator. But sometimes, these do turn out to be "early Vasart Ltd - 1956 and later". It would need a shortwave uv check to be sure.
