BlowZone Glass Bowl
« on: May 28, 2015, 07:27:13 PM »
Hi,
I have this glass bowl that is marked underneath BlowZone 2001. The others I'm finding all say by Lestyn Davies - some have his signature others don't - so I'm wondering if they all are by him or did others make these?
Mine is green with yellow and clear, stands 4 1/2"H.

Although I can't help further (I imagine the information you have is correct), but anything by Iestan (note spelling) Davies is worthy of a modern collection. I see the blowzone.co.uk link leads to this site:

Correct spelling is Iestyn... and that website seems to be the man http://heartofenglandglass.co.uk/summer-glass-making-school-at-the-ruskin/iestyn-davies-hot-glass-tutor/

You could email and ask him

Blowzone was the name of Iestyn Davies' studio.
He produced these bowls with lozenge shaped cuts in several variations and sizes - the most complex ones being triple colour layered and incalmo'd in stripey layers.

Your lovely bowl is perfectly right. I gave one exactly the same to my little brother.
Treasure and enjoy it. :)
