Partial Bohemian Glass label ? - ID = Chribska
« on: June 18, 2015, 01:55:29 PM »
Hi.

Recently acquired a nice mid century Bohemian/Czech glass vase.    I know its a Czech piece, but I was interested if anyone could tell the factory from either the label or the vase itself (I think I can even work out the 'word' Bohemian from the few letters on the label)

Thanks a million.

Chris.

PS.  Hope this is in the right sub-forum section, didnt know whether to put it here or in the Bohemian sub-forum.

Chris, Glass is the right place for such queries... I'd never have figured Bohemian from the remains of that label - it's made my eyes go funny trying to figure it out.   ;D

Let's hope that someone can help with the maker for you. I do like the piece though! Can you add dimensions too please? Ta!
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd

Vase was made by Chribska, Hospodka is designer I think.

The label looks more like a Bohemia export label: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-13246

than one of the Chribska labels: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-11796

Thanks Anne and John.   The glass vase is 5 1/2 inches tall.

I'll look up the hospodka/chribska path, always interested to research companies and designers I've not come across before.

Chribska 1999 catalogue: click here

We have had a few of the other shapes shown on the board in the past.
