Help with ID - Murano? or Czech? or something else?
« on: June 22, 2015, 01:26:36 AM »
Hi everyone,

I need some help identifying the origin of the paperweight pictured below.  The previous owner thought it was Czech, but I have always thought these were Murano.  All help will be appreciated.

The paperweight is just under 3 1/8" diameter by 2 13/16" tall.  It has a matte finish on the surface and bottom.

Thanks in advance.

Given the frosted surface I would also say Murano.

I am not aware of frosting being a feature of Czech glass (but it might be!).

Kevin makes a good point about frosting.  Makes me more certain that this is a Murano paperweight as I originally believed.  Thanks.
