Irridescent tadpole vase or goblet help please.
« on: June 26, 2015, 07:06:27 PM »
This is a well made piece of glass to add to my tadpole vases, i thought might be Webbs bronze but it has a copper mottled interior like murano glass i have seen especially by V Nason and that look of cellophane deco glass that crops up on here. The outer surface looks like Webbs bronze and it's signed with what i thought might be L C T a Tiffany signature an arrow or a V and 95. A search with LTC Tiffany Favrelle brings up similar items but the signatures are neater and there is nothing in this colour, so i think it might be a copy or a fake i'm not sure, any help welcome.

The interior looks purple when help to the light.

4 inches in height,  2 3/4 inches across the widest point at the rim and 1 3/4 inches across the base.

regards Chris,
Chris Parry

This looks much like a modern studio piece with heavy iridizing in a manner that was common in my part of the world a few years ago. The inscription '95 indicates 1995 as the year of its making. Perhaps someone will recognise the signature, but I don't. Interesting piece.

Thanks Trevor, it might be modern there is no wear on the base, I thought the 95 might be a makers number due to the forward slash before it, but I can see it could well be a date. The numbers look a bit old fashioned to me, very curled like my Granddads handwriting. Another I think will remain a mystery.

Here it is next to a Webbs bronze brain vase and another I think is Webbs, there green when you look through them and date from the late Victorian period.

The other two have no wear though.
