Chinese show stopper
« on: July 21, 2015, 02:45:23 PM »
We might as well gIve up - the Chinese have got their act together. Here is an amazing vase in green with clear loops and the best all over Aventurine I have ever seen - except for Venini, of course.
Provenance: TKMAXX, sticker "made in China", price tag: £7,99

My favourite paperweight is a £4.99 modern Chinese one from the Heart Foundation. (It helps a bit that it was a present from somebody I care for very much.)

It was from my elderly lady friend, Norma.
Mike, I did have some trouble with all of that being in the crisp packet, but it reminded me of the sandwiches my Dad made me for my packed lunch on my birthday to take to school.
Cold stew, tomato ketchup and crisps. His idea of the perfect sandwich. :-X

Paul, affection is not something that becomes in any way diminished after some has been given away.
It actually increases.  ;D

It really is a superb bottle vase, Ivo, the aventurine is so fine and so gold, it shimmers properly.

I have noticed that the quality of Chinese glass has improved dramatically recently. I believe they've been importing masterglassmakers from Poland to teach.
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)
