That is about right - the prices over the years for the owl (and the bee and butterfly) has always been upwards of £500 and more around the £800 overage. Which is why my shelves are bereft of examples of these. And, whilst they are nicely constructed weights, they do not have the qualities of say a Partridge (xmas 79), but they appear on the market so rarely, and so many people want one, they demand the higher prices. Dealers will happily pay top dollar as they will have collectors with the cash waiting... .
There are rarer Whitefriars weights but they do not have the star billing.....
I still want one however!!
