Likely not Thomas Webb Bronze Glass - who else?
« on: September 09, 2015, 09:27:05 AM »
Hiya,
been a while since my last post....
Found this rather fascinating vase during my trip to England in the Stourbridge area.
Unfortunately the base colour of the glass seems wrong for Webb´s ´Bronze Glass´.
Can anyone suggest a maker? Richardson?
It´s ca. 21.5cm tall, so quite a whopper for this decor.
Funny side note - from the seller´s description it became obvious he actually deemed it pottery.  :P
TIA
Dirk

Nice one. Try a UV torch on it but you will need to select a bit without iridescence

That kind of blue when uranium I tend to associate with Stevens and Williams but that could be something I made up of course

Have you investigated Loetz Lava ? Phänomen genre 377 ?
the shape does look like a Thomas Webb or rather English though.

They are very nice whoever made them
