High quality engraving is done by hand, holding the glass against a spinning copper disc. These can be of various diameters depending on the effect required.

If you can't find the original vase, you could commission a special piece from her, or another glass engraver, specially for your anniversary, with a ballerina, and maybe even some other special references to happy times you have shared? It might turn out to be even more special than your original idea.

Vicke Lindstrand did two or more vases using the copper wheeled engraving technique with nude young ladies studying themselves in a mirror.
Unfortunately, I cannot find a similar copper wheel engraving of a ballerina.
