Walther & Sohne Windsor vase oddities
« on: September 20, 2015, 12:39:25 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before... http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/database/?irn=188391

Titled: Salt glazed stoneware Australian vase

There are a few rumours on here that the Windsor Vase was made in Australia, maybe that's where the rumour stems from? One or two of you have said they turn up in Australia a lot. Perhaps that is where the mould originally came from?

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTM5N1gxNjAw/z/IO4AAOSwT6pViDKb/$_57.JPG ... to me that's an unusual colour (pink with red top and bottom), i don't know, but i've never seen one like that before. Like others have mentioned before, it makes me think this Windsor Vase might be hiding something, some long lost secret.  :)

There is one known Windsor vase in cloud glass in a known Walther cloud glass colour that sold on ebay from Switzerland quite a few years ago, I may try and add a picture as I know the collector.

Just noticed that the red vase was posted on pressglas-korrespondenz.de... http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/aktuelles/pdf/pk-2015-2w-ebay-walther-windsor-1935-rot.pdf

The red does look kind of sprayed on in the last picture.  ;D

I have seen a Windsor vase in a dull brown - not a colour I associate with Walther & Sohne but now I look there are a few other examples online, this is the colour: http://cdn0.rubylane.com/shops/thedevilduckcollection/2777.3L.jpg?87

Other unusual colours - the darker blue can be found now and then, but the turquoise was completely new to me.

I think this would be the same colour as the Windsor vase.
