Does anyone know What this is ???
« on: November 22, 2015, 01:49:37 AM »
I just bought this jar because it is so interesting! It is cobalt blue smooth glass about 10 inches high and 6 inches in diameter. The top opens on a brass hinge, with a brass ring around the opening. Inside is a metal plate with 6 small openings surrounding a larger opening. It has a 5 inch tall clear glass bottle with a glass stopper that fits in the middle opening, and 2 tiny straight clear glasses that fit into the smaller holes. It must have originally held 6 of these . It has "made in Czecho-slovakia" stamped on the bottom, but no other markings. I cannot find anything similar on the internet, and I would love to know what it was made for!

Hello Debra R, welcome to the Board.

From the details you have given, somebody may be able to provide information. However, adding photos would be the best way forward, especially as you say you cannot find anything similar on the internet.

To add photos, make a Reply to the thread and use the "Attach" function below the text window. If you need help adding photos, that can be provided.

is the whole casing egg shaped :)

Sounds like a decanter bar set to me but I can't remember what they are called.  There are quite a few around.
