But one way to get a ball-park figure would be to go to that well-known auction site and plug "venetian gondola ashtray" into the search engine, and then click on the sold listings bit.

Thanks for that! It'll give me some idea what it's worth, i wasn't expecting masses anyway. I'll put it on for 30 quid and relist my way down until it finds a buyer
