I'm starting to think that blue along with Earthtones should be considered a "true" MDG Earthtones, just never a Mdina Earthtones.
Your "new" Lollipop is Earthtones encased in a sommerso layer of blue under clear, and I have recently acquired a chimney vase which is MDG Earthtones, encased in blue, now there's your weight, with the blue core.
We do know of three pieces where blue is used with Earthtones, in MDG.
