Need to ID a green / white milk swirl vase.
« on: January 20, 2016, 05:13:56 AM »
Hi all, I recently broke a vase that belonged to the grandmother of my other half, I'm trying to identify it so I can get a replacement. I don't imagine it's rare, but standard google word search terms aren't helping me find anything similar.

I'd be so grateful for any help as I'd like to replace it as soon as possible, I feel terribly guilty about breaking it.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Hardy.

How tall was it?  Any family photos with the vase in the background?

John

Hi John, it's a fraction over 10 inches tall, two inches wide at the top with a three inch wide base, I've glued some pieces together, hopefully this will give everyone a better idea of what it looked like before it was broken.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it when it was in use.

No need now, that is much better.

Hopefully someone will have an idea or two.

Wish I had better news for you however its not from the U.S. unless its a handmade studio glass vase & even if it is unless its signed on the bottom odds of you finding another is close to zero. Do you know when or how many years ago grandma bought it & from where...as it a store, an antique mall?  etc.

Hardy if you cannot locate one within a day or so here is one on eBay & at least it green & striped that you can show to grandma & if she likes it...bite the bullet & buy it for her...only advice I have for what its worth. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GREEN-YELLOW-STRIPED-FLUTED-ART-GLASS-VASE-HANDMADE-FLAWLESS-/371412783602?hash=item5679ed51f2:g:7rcAAOSwPcVVzqBs#ht_1556wt_848
