Dear All,

acquired today, undoubtedly Whitefriars ( I bought a Kingfisher Blue one too, pictures to follow. ) however I have never seen this shape of bowl before. 5 1/8th inches wide, clear cased meadow green with a deep bowl. Can anybody advise the pattern please. I don't recall seeing it in Evans or Jackson books on Whitefriars.

Thank you as always for your help.

Kind Regards

Andrew

Dear John,

the pictures do show the bottom and tops of each bowl.  :) The top has the fire/hot finish and the base is that which is ground. If you look at the part pictures those are of the tops of the bowl and show the clear casing esp. in the Kingfisher piece. They are very similar to standard textured candlesticks however much wider, 5 1/8 Inches and with a distinct bowl. As I said the bowls are very unusual and most definitely Whitefriars Kingfisher Blue and Meadow Green ( I have hundreds of Whitefriars pieces and they are quite unmistakable, even a little collection of fake Bricklayers  ). Happy to post some others in the same colourway for direct comparison in the same light, as that may help.

It's the pattern number that intrigues me.

I will send better pictures after Monday on my return.

Kind Regards

Andrew

ps still being hit by picture rotational problems....arghhhhhhh.

Dear Kevin,

 :) ;D

I ended up using Windows Paint to re-size and rotate. I'm getting there.

Have fun.

Sorry Andrew glad to be wrong i am waiting for cataract ops so should have kept quiet
i do know a bit about Whitefriars as i was in partnership with Ray Annenberg buying and selling glass for about 20 years and  spend many Sunday liquid  lunches with the few Whitefriars workers still standing , looks like you have a nice collection , i collect mostly Powell now due to lack of space
cheers jp
