Sowerby Plate & Stand Pattern 1177
« on: February 17, 2016, 04:35:50 PM »
Fred some pictures of sowerby plate 1177 complete with stand. The stand has date lozenge for 18th August 1876 plus the Sowerby trade mark.

This one has the stand cemented together with plate . I have seen this a few times before but not sure if it was an option at the time or done later. My own thoughts is that it was done before sold.

Thank you, Roy.

I've heard about the plate & stand combinations found cemented together, so I think the pre-sale option is certainly plausible.

Fred.

I saw a white one of these with the basket weave type top at a bric a brac fair a couple of months ago and that was cemented together, the top was definitely different the same as the larger detachable version I have, not sure about the base though.
