
Maybe the clear blue is an anomolous later one, or they'd briefly run out of silver chloride, or were economising on it? That does look to be the shade of blue Mark describes as being the later "jewell-like" deeper, colour.

In Mdina, there are plenty of anomolies.
The red in the bottle in question is the wrong shade. It's not a Maltese cross in the prunt.
I don't believe it's Mdina, not for one moment.
