Topic: Mysterious and strangely pleasing object

Hi, can anyone help me to identify this lovely, cased, footed, bowl like, object? Possibly a cotton ball holder?

I'm not sure whether it is clear from the photos or not but the bowl part is white inside while all other parts are clear.

Flat edged, roughly 23 cm tall (bit awkward to measure), the opening diameter is 16.7 cm, the foot diameter is 10.1 cm and it weighs 841 g

Diagonally cut glasses are usually made for floral decorations: some sticking out, something curly growing high and some leaves hanging down. If you go for chic you may call it an Ikebana bowl....

If you were in the U.S. they would be called hurricane candlesticks. Example below is a pair made by Morgantown. Photo is a good 25 years old so it cannot be enlarged.

Ah thank you! That definitely looks promising! I can't find any evidence so far of Morgantown making a white one though.
