George Davidson sweetmeat dish & tankard
« on: May 08, 2016, 11:41:27 AM »
For interest, two pieces of Davidson pressed glass, both with the Davidson lion trademark.

The first, a two handled rectangular sweetmeat dish, which I think might belong to the 1896 suite, but not sure (RD.254027), at least its the nearest I can find.
Second, a tankard or mug decorated with what looks like poppies and wheat sheafs with a rustic twig handle.  This one I can find no record of in my Davidson book or online.

Your Davidson tankard is Davidson pattern number 222, and it appears (as a 'can' rather than a tankard ) in their catalogues of unregistered designs dating from between 1880 and 1890.

Your Davidson sweetmeat is Davidson pattern number 812, and it appears in the same catalogues of unregistered designs dating from between 1880 and 1890.

Did someone else not ask about the same tankard recently, or did I dream it?

Many thanks Fred for the information :-*.  I would never have found it.

I just wonder if it was the one on eBay (finished yesterday) that you saw Anne?  Not mine by the way.
