Looking for information on Pedestal Bonbon Dish in the pics. Label attached: "Hand cut lead crystal, Made in Czechoslovakia." 12 1/2" H x 7" D at the top, 6 1/2 lbs

Thought finding glass maker would be impossible, but would like to try, asking for direction where to start.

Would also like to have a sense of value compared to similar bonbon dish/gilt cover made in other countries, i.e., France, Italy, U.S. et al

The gilding on the cover is beautiful, think it's 14K? Gilding color is actually less dark, more yellow.

Is that pattern on the gilding raised?

If it is it's a kind of decoration I have seen on modern Turkish Glass so I'm thinking it might be a fairly recent piece. I'm not sure how the label ties in with that though.  I don't recognise the label but someone might.

It's a decoration that was done on glass in the 1930s as well but I suspect yours is much more recent because of the label.

I'm afraid we don't really do values on this board.  Something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and on the day of selling that can depend on many things not least, two people deciding they both want the same piece.  Hopefully you will able to find out where it was made and perhaps be able to check a sales price online with them for the original item.

Thanks very much for your response. Much appreciated. Gilding is raised. When I bought it at estate sale, it was new. No sign of use. The label/sticker looked a little old. I think someone had it and never used it over the years, and eventually it ended up in the sale.
