Not sure if you have this Sowerby lidded jar in your gallery , I can see similar.

Marked with lozenge for the 13th Feb 1877 parcel 8.

Thank you for showing this, Roy, because I don’t appear to have any photos of it in my reference files.

It is Sowerby pattern 1203, listed on page 35 of their pattern book XI (1885) as a ‘marmalade’; that's one jolly big marmalade jar!

Sowerby registered a bundle of 11 designs on 13 February 1877 – Parcel 8,  RDs 307686 to 307696 inclusive. These large Sowerby design bundles can be difficult to correlate with actual pieces, but from Thompson and Slack, the only designs that look as if they may the 1203 marmalade are 307690 or 307691 (described as ‘covered vases’).

Paul S. has kindly offered to chase up a few registrations for me at Kew, so this marmalade may be one worthy of his special attention (assuming that he doesn’t already have the design representation among his extensive collections).

the factory were obviously very busy that day  -  I think I've provided at least one from this batch before now, and fortunately the original drawings were good quality and have lasted well and not faded like the purple pencil drawings.
As Fred has suggested Roy's marmalade is Rd. 307691  -  and it does appear large, but maybe a little on the slim side and it does of course sit off the table  -  so perhaps doesn't hold as much as might be imagined.             Nonetheless could be top heavy and possibly not too stable.
Assume the capacity isn't shown anywhere.

From that bundle of 13 February 1877, the only other designs correlated with their individual numbers are from Cottle’s Sowerby Glass (page 99):
307686: wall pocket vase pattern no. 1191
307688: basket vase pattern no. 1187
307693: vase pattern no. 1193
but, as we have seen in the past, Cottle can be a little ‘awry’ with precise correlations from large bundles.

from that bundle, I also have photos of a covered jar #1202 (presumably now known to be 307690), a handled posy basket #1129˝, and a creamer with pattern number still unknown,  but I don’t have any of the corresponding design representations to provide a positive independent correlation.

When we discussed this group of Sowerby Registrations in 2013, I moaned then about not having a picture of 307686 to show, and sad to say that for whatever reason it appears I didn't rectify that situation  -  I think Fred has commented that this particular Rd. is a wall pocket.

So, with this first one in the group still missing  -  which I'm now unable to put right until next week  -  and 307691 added yesterday, we're left with Nos. 307687 to 90, and 307692 to 96 - a total of nine Registrations from 13th February 1877, and pix of these are now attached  -  spread over three separate posts.

307686   pattern 1191 wall pocket in accord with Thompson & Cottle;

307687   pattern 2010 sugar as per pattern book XI (1885), page 49;

307688   pattern 1187 posy basket in accord with Thompson & Cottle;

307690   pattern 1202 biscuit jar as per pattern book XI (1885), page 3

307694   unsure of precise pattern match at the moment, but maybe sugar 1146 as per pattern book XI (1885), page 48 (though sides below the band of ovals appear to be stippled round the middle and reeded below rather than embossed with interlocking diamonds);

307695  shown at the extreme right of  the bottom  row of 3 sugars on page 48 of pattern book XI (1885). Unfortunately, pattern number cropped from the bottom of the page on the Thistlewood CD-ROM, so pattern number still unknown at present. This would appear to be the pattern which matches the creamer shown in the third photo attached to my reply #3 of this topic thread.
