Hi all,
Last week I purchased these two tall stoppered bottles from my regular car boot sale. The lady selling them said they had these two bottles in the 1960s and were recently took out of her loft.
They are both amethyst in colour and the glass lower section and the stoppers are full of bubbles (thousands of them).
I have had a quick look myself on the internet and I am pretty sure they are American - Blenko but I am unable to find any of that type glass that has the bubble effect - they tend to be clear or crackle finish.
Please can anybody help with any information on these pieces?
They are substantial in weight and size and both have pontil mark to base - so are blown pieces.
The larger piece stands 26 inches tall with stopper in place. The stopper measures an impressive 15 inches long. The smaller mallet shaped bottle stands 21 inches tall with stopper in place. The stopper measures 10.5 inches long.
Any information will be gratefully received as we cannot find any example like it.
Many thanks
J
