Old blue glass with waved pattern, any info please?

Hi,

I found this strange looking blue vase.  Maybe too short to be a vase, any info would be appreciated, thank you!

Perhaps a tumbler, how tall is it?

Possibilities for maker might include Webb and Whitefriars but this is an area I know very little about. If you look into the glass from directly overhead do the waves produce a distinct shape?

Looking at the base it appears to have been mould blown and has a cut and polished rim, with no pontil. This would negate either powell/Whitefriars or Thomas Webb IMHO.

I have a tall version in a colour that you would associate with Bristol, but have sadly never found the maker.

Thanks John, Nigel.  I appreciate your time.

Sorry!  It measures about 9 cm in height.  I was wondering if it was possibly from a tea caddy?  There are no distinct shapes that I can see when looking directly from above.

Kind regards

hi - to the best of my knowledge, tea mixing bowls don't have rimmed feet like this piece  -  but must admit it would be a great colour for one. :)

The proportions do look a little odd, could this have been cut down at some point in the past? Is that damage to the side of the rim in picture 2?

I have a taller version vase in a dark amber colour, I bought it about four years ago, never found out who the maker is.

Greg I thought so too - it just doesn't look balanced.  But to be fair the cut rim does have an arriss at least on the outer edge.
