Large 2.8kg Cut Crystal Vase 1937. Who made it, please?
« on: September 24, 2016, 05:15:23 PM »
Hi all,

I have done a lot of searching for the identity of the chap named on the vase. It seems he was born in 1871 in Dudley and died in 1949. He obviously retired in 1937, as this vase was his retirement gift. On the 1911 census his occupation was enamel worker.
Does anyone recognise the pattern of this vase, hence leading to a maker. There are loads of patterns catalogues, but all for stemware.
I am presuming, from his location, that this is likely to be a Stuart or Webb Corbett vase, but my knowledge is so very limited in this area.
26cm in height.
21cm diameter across the top.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
TIA
Della
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.
