Help with lampshade ID... Kralik, Loetz...?
« on: September 29, 2016, 03:25:36 PM »
Hi,
my first time here.
Im trying to identify this lampshade i found. Any help would be great.
Not easy for me to describe the piece in english since im portuguese... all i can say is that i found some similar around the internet, that my piece has this nice patina and also what i think to be a mark inside that looks like silver ink.
Thanks in advance for your time,

Pat

Hi Pat,

Welcome to the Glass Message Board.

Pallme Konig, may be worth exploring, there's some interesting examples shown in the below link of a variety of shades produced in Teplitz.

Hope this helps a little with your search. :)

Hi Greg.

Thanks for your help! They are very similar indeed esp color and decor... but i still couldn't find one with the exact shape. I think that would solve the id mistery.
When googling there are a lot of "supposed" rare shades attributed to Loetz, Kralik, Pallme- Konig and everything related to bohemian, czech, bavarian etc etc... and nothing to relate the "rare" shade to the exact maker, which doesn't help at all! ??? It could be any of those or just a portuguese reproduction... ;)
Btw, how would you describe the shape? Eggplant, egg, flame...?
Thanks again,

Pat

In the catalogue pages Greg has given in the link above, there is a 'rich cut' version in the top left hand page that appears to be the same shape as yours but a cut glass version.
Also further down there seems to be another one the same shape but it has been presented the other way up to yours.  It looks to be the same shape and proportions as yours.
The decor and finish looks right for Pallme Konig to me.
