Unusual multi twist 5" tall candle holder with ring
« on: October 07, 2016, 05:20:58 PM »
Hi Folks,
Here is an unusual find for me. A multi twist stem candle holder measuring 5" tall with ring above 3 " base. Some mostly light edge movement marks and orange peel pontil area so unlikely to be old.
Any idea of origin would be great as my wife would love a matching pair!
Thank You,
Bryn

One of the uk's top makers of these sorts of twist stems is Mike Hunter, of "Twists" glass.
I'm sure he'd make a candlestick to match this, if you asked him nicely. ;D
He might even be the maker.

Hi Keith,
Nothing that I can see. There is a mark to the rippling pontil area but nothing that you would say was a sig. The base is really quite clear.
Thanks for the interest.
Bryn

You can produce some surprises, Keith!
However, your glass does not have the air twist as well as the colours.
But I would imagine Mike can do air twists. There's really not much he can't do. :)

Hi Bryn

I think I have seen these with Langham stickers on before. A quick look online for Langham Twist Candlesticks brings up some similar images.

wow, well spotted.  ;D

I was completely unaware that Langham Glass was able to make something like this.
I have only been aware of paperweights and animals.
