I'd say very closely related indeed.  :)
Cabochons and glitter patterns.
I'll get close ups when they come down from the attic.

Love those vintage decorations.

I have a lot of glass decorations (from Germany?) in fruit and vegetable shapes and others. If one chooses carefully they are as good as the vintage decs, or next best thing anyway. They are popular in the US so it's easier to buy them there where they have Christmas shops open all year round. They just happen to be in the background of this pic. Will have to take more photos when I get the decorations out.

the fruit are particularly lovely Julie.  I think there is a huge market in vintage and antique ones in the States as well - there seems to be a large choice but postage is too high from here.
I would like an earlier paper one - we had a fairy type old one as a child and a beautiful multicoloured rocket.  But they are all too expensive to justify indulging :)

I can remember making fabby decorations out of old cards. 8)
Cut images on the cards out in circle shapes (all the same size of circle) and fold three sides up, leaving a triangular shape in the middle of the circle.
Use the folded up semicircles as the tabs for glueing the triangles together and dip in glitter just after glueing, so the edges are all sparkly.
You can make them in lots of sizes, depending on how many pieces you glue together.

Piccies of my Polish christmas baubles.
Last year, we were given a plastic box containing sweets or nuts or something, but I grabbed the container for storing my eggballs. ;D

They are really pretty.  I love that bluey shaded one particularly for the colours.

Thanks :)

Been at the bubbly already M? ;D
It's green, shading to red. The other is pink shading to red.
I got them all in different places, the metally bit at the top on the matching baubles match, the silvery one's top bit has a different pattern moulded into it.
(I think you can see them better in the plastic box than on the tree. :))

have actually  ;D (last night was taxi duty for teens and staying sober to cope with the slightly older one! tonight I can indulge a glass of bubbly and some glassy stuff :) OH is hungover so doesn't mind watching telly whilst I do glass)

but... ok, I'll give you teal shading to red :)
They are all lovely.
There is a video on youtube of Lauscha and how they make the baubles, it's really interesting.
