Unidentified Art Glass
« on: February 08, 2017, 07:40:04 PM »
Hi, I'm new here but thought I would test the waters with a favourite piece, an art glass vase, of mine that I know nothing about. Attached are two images of it.

Thank you for looking and for any assistance you might render.

Hi and welcome to the board.

I think your vase is probably Romanian glass.

Here is a similar example

and there are others in satin glass as well.

Thank you very much for that! The style is remarkably similar albeit the colours rather brighter, almost gaudy. I can't find any mark/signature on my piece however - Coman claims to have signed every piece. It could be that he failed to sign it or it has been erased but I think that would leave an obvious 'graze'? The link you kindly provided seemed to indicate Coman's work had been mistaken for, or passed off as, earlier work?
It would be interesting to view examples of earlier or similar pieces not by Coman to be sure but your reply has given a great start. Thank you again.
