thanks Roy - would agree with m and think that your cut pattern is too universal to feel comfortable saying Walsh, and you are missing the fan split cutting too.
sorry to say it, but I don't see this square grid pattern as being Walsh - if you look at their cut designs incorporating relief diamonds and table diamonds, they appear to be cut to produce a pattern running at 45 degrees, and could be wrong but not sure that they did cross hatching on the diamonds, which I think I'm seeing on yours - is that right?
In my experience, and aside from drinking glasses, Walsh cut bowls and similar turn up infrequently - perhaps they were pricey pieces to buy in the first place.
Reynolds book can be a trial at times, I agree, but in the absence of anything else on the subject I guess we have to live with it - what makes me chuckle is the picture on page 26 - fig. 61 - I always need to look twice to remind me which one is Elizabeth
