What would this very large glass be used for ........ ?
« on: March 22, 2017, 01:45:40 PM »
And any idea of age?  ???
It has a snapped pontil scar, lots of tiny bubbles within the glass, wrythen towards the top, made in 3 sections, large & heavy with plenty of wear to the base.
It doesn't have a deep enough bowl to be classed as a celery vase, unless you cut the sticks in half  :P
653g in weight
7.5" (190mm) tall
5" (127mm) deep bowl x 4.25" (108mm) bowl diameter
TIA
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

I can see one or two folk shoving a tea light in that bowl - what do you think. :)                  My feeling is that this is quite modern.

I tried the tea-light, Paul, it sits wonky  :P As for a malt  :-X :-X :-X Never was one for shorts.
Good size for real ale though  ;D
