Just come across this frosted pressed glass sugar which I thought at first glance might be from one of the Manchester glassworks, but can't find a match.  I haven't checked Sowerby yet but will do so.
The vertical band of ridges are just under the rim, which is smooth on top.  Star base with 24 points. No markings unfortunately.  Nice little piece - plain, but elegant.
Any ideas please as to who made it?
