Looking for info on two vases
« on: April 08, 2017, 09:39:42 PM »
I was told one is Northwood custard glass from 1906, with a grape pattern and ruffled opening.  I was also told that the company switched this pattern to carnival glass soon after-consequently, the custard glass version is harder to come by.  There are no markings.

The other one is more of a mystery.  I was told it's ruby Bohemian glass, but not the age, only that it's vintage.  It has a large oval of frosted white glass with an etching of a red songbird standing on a branch.  Only a little gilding remains.  On the bottom is a marking that looks to me to be a rose.  Would this be a maker's mark?

Any information on either would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi malkat1987, welcome to the Board.

We will need to see some photos in order to help. If you have problems with resizing images to fit the Board requirements, please check out: TECHIE TIPS: Resizing images to fit the board

Also, assuming you can provide photos, please post in separate threads as having more than one ID request in a thread can become complicated.

Sounds like Hofbauer Byrdes, but a little late, I guess  :P
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.
