Schneider
Jay:
Despite the look of the piece it seems to be marked with 'Schneider - PARIS- France'.
However the mark is not in the 'big book' so I guess I still need some expert help!
Anne Tique:
Hello,
I don't call myself an expert but I can help.
I haven't got an example of the mark with 'France' added to it, but this is the closest I could get, I guess. It's the only round mark and there is a whole range of signatures used from 1949/1950 with either Paris, France or both added to the name. From 1955 up to the end they have gone back to just the name without circle/oval etc ... acid marked, sand blasted or diamond point signature.
This round mark was used around 1949/1950 for the new company, SARL Cristallerie Schneider, founded by Charles jr and his brother Robert-Henri.
Jay:
Brilliant Anne, thanks.
Which book was it that I'm missing ? ;-)
PS Anyone who knows how to get the right info is an expert! :)
Paul S.:
I'd agree - certainly regarding this lady - and if Anne doesn't like that description, then perhaps 'a very, very well informed lady' would be acceptable. :) she is very good.
but I still don't have my stained glass window ;) ;D
Anne Tique:
You're both very kind but I'm only repeating what's been said/written before :-*
