Small colorful spatter glass vase - origin?
« on: June 13, 2017, 12:41:27 PM »
Pulled out of a second hand shop. Unsigned from what I can tell. Strikes me as well made, but I've been fooled by made in China stuff before. Thanks for looking. There are a few copper/gold spots that look like aventurine. Also the dark green spots sparkle in the light, but I don't think they are metallic sparkles...not sure.

 :)
It might be Gibralter glass. I haven't seen a lot of it around. I once bought something described as Gibralter, (it was Mdina, wrongly attributed) but I did do a bit of searching at the time.
I have since found one piece, in its original box, and it's not dissimilar to this in overall style and my gut-feel.
Might be worth searching around.

Many thanks Sue, I'll see what I can dig up about Gibralter! Thank you!
