Small textured thick walled bowl
« on: July 09, 2017, 03:06:11 PM »
Any ideas who made this lovely little crystal bowl please? Very thick walled and heavily textured both on the outside and inside, apart from its flat polished rim.  4.5" diameter and quite heavy weighing over 1 kg.  Previously used as an ashtray, which isn't ideal, since the inside is really bumpy and textured, so was difficult to clean.
I've searched through virtually every Scandinavian glassworks that I can think of without success but it might not of course be Scandinavian and I'm searching in the wrong direction.  A little bit similar to Tapio Wirkkala's "Lunaria" range for Iittala, but they appear to have a thinner wall and narrower rim, plus the base is different, this one having a small area of smooth glass.
TIA :)

Many thanks t'other Anne ;) I did look at Pukeberg but their bowls are completely textured on the underneath unlike mine which has a bald patch ;D
Its a lovely bowl and sits in a fairly dark corner, but seems to absorb any light and reflect it back out again, so I'm sure its crystal. I'd be very surprised if it didn't turn out to be Scandinavian, as I've got quite a few icy textured pieces including Pukeberg and Kosta Boda and it has that sort of feel about it.

I've recently seen some Poshingner that is very lumpy and textured, although they had bits of pink or purple scattered throughout. Might be an avenue to explore? :)
