Topic: STROMBERGSHYTTAN: HELP WITH I.D. PLEASE.

I didn't have my reading glasses with me when I bought this ice-blue oval vase, so the signature was just a blur, but everything about it screamed  "Strombergshyttan". Well, appearances can be deceiving, especially when they're fuzzy. The top line is either the letter "S" or the number "5", and the next line is "SVERIGE" which is self-explanatory. It's the third line which defeats me. I can't make out the first few characters, then it reads ".....ATYRERN..", followed by what looks like the number "4". Can anyone please fill in the blanks for me? Thanks - and next time I'll remember my glasses. Larry.

I read MINIATYRERNA which google-translates 'thumbnails' ....

Well done, Pamela, your response is simply inspired. "Thumbnails" it is, then. Another translation (without the final letter, which could be the number "4") yielded the word "miniature".  (Much the same thing - in English, a thumbnail sketch is a miniature sketch). I'm still trying to identify the maker, and can't help but think there's a Stromberg connection, and will keep you posted. Thanks again for your invaluable help. Larry.

I had the same translation - but kept quiet, thinking I must have done something wrong  -  can't see an obvious connection with that word, unless it has some colloquial interpretation in Swedish.
It does have much similarity to some pale bluish shapes from Strombergshyttan, but you get a feeling that it might equally be from one or two other Scandi origins  - but you may be vastly more knowledgeable than me Larry, so could be correct.
