1970 Small faceted weight. ID = Chinese 1930s
« on: July 30, 2017, 02:17:06 PM »
Can anyone help me to identify the maker of this weight?

The description says:

1970 Small faceted weight
This miniature, heavily faceted weight contains a patter of concentric millefiori set in a clear ground with a large top facet.
Image and measurements attached.

Hope you can help?

Thanks.

Julie

Chinese from the 1930s.  Not sure where you got the 1970 date from.

Hi.  You can find the near identical design in rather crude inkwells / perfume bottles.

Hi.

In a way, yes.  It is probably better made than typical Chinese paperweights of this period....but they are generally less well made than European millefiori paperweights, with poorer quality glass.  They are at the low end of the market.
