Attenuated bottle vase.
« on: September 03, 2017, 02:22:22 PM »
Any thoughts about my 23.5" high attenuated bottle vase would be much appreciated.
Its quite delicate weighing only 660g and has some opalescence to it.  The green is denser at the bottom and at the top, and where it is stretched, is semi-opaque.
The base is flat and appears to be to be fire polished.  I'm not sure if this is a contemporary piece or older.
Many thanks for any comments ;)

I think we've had one of these quite recently, Lustrousstone said Ikea, I think.
I'm sure I replied to drag her into commenting, because I thought with an interest in various uranium glass colours, I thought she might have been intrigued by one if it had been seen.
Very recent.
(but my thinking can be erratic and tangental, or sometimes just plain wrong, and I can't remember any key words to search for the thread.)

They were mine Sue, you could search for ever here and not find them, searching your emails would be more fruitful!

I was able to find one other searching on line - an old ebay auction, I did not manage to find out anything about them. I agree modern, mine have no wear to speak off at all.

Thanks for your comments folks :)
I found one on an old eBay listing also, but there were no details as to manufacturer etc. if I'm correct.
IKEA seems quite possible.  May be a collectable for the future, like Elme Glass peacock vases which they apparently sold long ago.
Your's look great together John.  Three is a magic number for displaying, but I don't have the luxury of space for that unfortunately ::)
