Topic: Whitefriars glass picture 1961

Not sure if this is commonly known but for those of you interested in Whitefriars glass there is a painting in the Science Museum collection painted in 1961 by Cliff Rowe - it shows two glassworkers.  Thought it might be interesting to know who they were?

I find the paintings themselves very interesting.
It was a period when a style similar to this was used for (now highly desirable) railway posters, but there's something about these two that makes me think there is a hammer and sickle missing in a corner somewhere.
Perhaps it's because the genuine feeling of really hard labour comes over in them.

I know exactly what you mean.  My friend has some posters bought when she lived in Moscow.
