thanks Pamela - very interesting. Regret my knowledge of the ownership of Continental pre-WW II moulds for pressed glass is very patchy - so in my ignorance have to ask you ................ I assume the moulds used by Val & Cie are the exact same moulds used later by Hermanova Hut. Do I have that correctly, by which I mean, were these moulds first used by the French Co., then subsequently in Czechoslovakia
or is it the other way around? - and were they acquired legitimately?
Hermanova Hut looks to have had a complex history, at least during the second half of the C20
It's a shame the Hermanova Hut catalogue doesn't include an image of the 'winged' vase (neither does the book) - it's a very impressive piece, and a little reminiscent of one of Lalique's large opalescent 'wing' handled vases. Assume 18677 is a rare piece - I will keep an eye out for one for you
