;D My brain has got stuck on seeing "Daphne" in it. (A mate of Muriel's?)
The colours and the way they're worked look a bit on the Maltese side of things.

 ;D ;D I thought Daphne too, Sue
Think she must be Muriels bestest friend  :P
I'm not sure how they have done this, the outer blue whilst the inner green, not savvy enough in glass techniques, but I prefer the outside to the in.
I was hoping someone would recognise the work as much as the signature.

That weird colour thing where it is completely different inside and outside happens in Mdina too.
You end up with that amethyst colour on one side where it is yellow and blue crossed over on the other side. It's to do with how light gets absorbed rather than reflected in glass.
When you have blue crossing over yellow, and because they reflect outwards on one side, (thus showing you the blue and yellow) the only colour of light that actually gets through the vessel is reddish.
And just to be keeping us in period, Daphne is of course, one of "The Broons". She'd be absolutely at home with Hilda's Muriel. ;D
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thanks for the explanation, Sue. Much appreciated.  :-*

:o You understood my burblings? well done.  :-*
The blue and yellow wavelengths being reflected outwards, means only red wavelengths are left overand able to get through.

My guts suspect it is Mtarfa. But Daphne is a problem. She's even Daphne Price, not Daphne Broon. (did somebody, somehow, finally manage to get her "married off"? I realised this is antiquated language, referring to antiquated and, thankfully, no longer acceptable, attitudes. But we are indulging in a little cultural nostalgia here.  ;D )

Could be, Chris. There is definitely an I in the surname.
