Can anyone identify this signature?! Heavy blue swirl vase, looks hand blown.

hi  -  think you will need to re-send pictures, please.               It may not help, but always of interest anyway to send a picture of the whole piece of glass - someone may recognize its origin which may resolve the question.              As for the signature on the base  -  to my eyes it appears to be saying possibly  'something L. Smith' - but that's guesswork to some extent, and you will need to re-post this picture on a larger scale - presently it's not blowing up sufficiently and lacks sharpness.          Make the first dimension of your picture 700 and try wiping a little talc or similar onto the name, and No.         Best of luck.

some confusion here I think  -  is this the same piece that you've shown in your previous post  -  I assume it is.               Hopefully the Mods. can tidy up and amalgamate the two.             You can in fact include up to maximum of four separate pix in one post - no need to create separate posts for each picture.

not a clue  -  but does appear that the white ish/cream/sand colour might be suggesting the inclusion of yellow sulphide.    Attractive vase, I like it.
Fingers crossed someone will have something more useful to offer.

Topics merged. I suspect Wildnred was suffering from the board glitch which was being caused by a failing advert script causing timeouts. I've removed said offending scripts pro temps, so hopefully that should resolve things.

Wildnred welcome to the board, we really need larger images to be able to help. If you make them around 700 pixels along the longest edge and save for web they should fit our size limits. We have a help post for images here https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34093.0.html but do ask if you are struggling and we'll help you with resizing.

Anne...Thanks for the info, BUT when I was resizing my images it stated they could be no less than 125 KB per image. This was the only way to keep within that so how am I supposed to make them bigger!!!!

Different systems use different instructions, so you just need to find the right set for what you're using.

don't know which system you use for re-sizing pix, but..............   a programme such as IrfanView - free download from the internet - is suitable.
If you have your own picture library, or can create one, then downloading IrfanView will enable you to re-size as necessary, and remember the maximum for the first dimension is 700.                  Having resized whichever pix you want to send to the GMB, type your text and then attach relevant pix, prior to posting.       best of luck.

I have merged your question to Anne with your original thread to keep things in one place.

Please do not worry about struggling with resizing images ... there a lots of other folk who have the same problem.

In the "Techy Tips" thread linked to by Anne and Sue, I suggested http://www.picresize.com/ as a simple free, online routine that produces good results. Basically ..

1) On the site front page - use the default "From computer" , then click "Browse" at the end of the next line
2) Choose your image and then Click "Continue" in the web page
3) In the next page on the site, go to (2) and select "Custom Size" from the drop down box
4) Type your desired reduced pixel size for the width or height (whichever is longest) - such as "700"
5) Go straight to "I'm Done, ..." and click the button
6) Check the info where it says "Original" and "New" and make sure that the New Kb size is less than 125 - if it is not click on "Resume Edit" and try a smaller pixel size
7) When you are happy with the new Kilobyte size, Click the "Save To Disk" entry -  which will download the resized image to your computer

The date on it appears to read 1975.
Cannot read the sig.
Interesting piece in that it looks very similar to Mdina glass from the period doesn't it?
