Topic: Is this a 'deception' glass ?

4 inches tall, no pontil mark just loads of wear, the glass is quite dark and shows tool marks, Victorian ? English ?

Bistro Absinthe glass perhaps??,has it got a faint line on it anywhere for measurement.

  I'm sure I'd have been very disappointed to get a drink in one of those, at one point in my life. (Well, I'd have pretended to be disappointed.  I'd actually have been furious, but far too ashamed to admit it.    )
It looks much more like a deception glass than a penny lick, to me, Keith.
And nowadays, I'd be far more interested in the contents of a penny lick.

  Sue, I'd be disappointed now ! has that old feel and grey tinge to the glass, bit large for a penny lick, those were not what you'd call  hygienic  here's one I found a while ago....

Hi Keith, you say ‘no pontil mark’ but if it is Victorian it should have a snapped, ground or gadget marked pontil. If it was a penny lick, you would need an excessively long tongue! As for hygiene, I can’t buy an ice cream in a cone these days without thinking about where the vendor’s hands have been in his hot sticky van.

The T is the shear mark from the gadget tool dating it to about the 1870's.
