Hi again everyone,
Can anybody give me weblinks for Jobling glass history and patterns as I am trying to research one of my latest buys which I think may have been made by Jobling
Many thanks

I have a gallery documenting some of my collection of Jobling glass here:

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/thumbnails.php?album=56

The best book on Jobling is 'A Collector's Guide to Jobling 1930's Decorative Glass' by John Baker & Kate Crowe, Published by Tyne & Wear County Council Museums 1985. It's not so easy to get hold of but your library may be able to source it. Alternatively, if you post pictures here, I will try to look up the pattern for you.

Hope this is of use

Steven

Many thanks to you both for your help once again. I have identified my bowl from the website link that Frank posted. I like your collection of Jobling, Steven particularly the fircone and ribbon fish vases

It appears that I have a large Jobling ice cube pattern bowl.

Pictures of it here: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g294/bananabons/My%20collection/Large3handledfruitbowlside.jpg

That one is, I believe, known as the salad bowl. It also comes in jade uranium glass. There is also a small one, in clear and jade, that was a posy. It doesn't have the down bits on the handles and can be found, sometimes, with a frog and a black plinth.

Thanks for your comments regarding my collection. I love Jobling's art glass range and have been collecting for some time now, the ribbon fish vase being my latest addition (and at a great price too!).

I can confirm your bowl is definitely Jobling. It is one of a number of designs apparently inspired by Fostoria's 'American' pattern. The bowl predates the introduction of the art glass range but is illustrated in the 1934 catalogue (only in jade) as No. 2077 '3-Handled Salad Bowl'

Thanks,

Steven
