Any ideas who this mark belongs to please.  It looks like a lion's head side profile with a crown, and flowing mane, but I could be wrong.

maybe Royal Doulton?? bit weird but would that fit with the style of the piece?

Many thanks ;)  I checked on Great Glass and the acid etched mark is Royal Doulton.  I think they are from their Helix range.  I haven't been able to find my beaker version, but there are stemmed glasses with an etched spiral, just as these have.  I'll take a picture and post it later.

Not the best of pictures I'm afraid.  It was difficult to show the wavy "spiral", which starts at the base and ends near the rim.
I'm not sure what this is intended to be used as - water???  Its almost 4" high.
