Just for view …Pfeiffer paperweight
« on: February 10, 2019, 03:26:48 PM »
Hi,

A modern paperweight by Dutch glass artist Emil Pfeiffer (glass studio 1989 - 2002, Drente)
The label is practically unreadable, but just enough is visible to name the maker.
There aren’t that many Dutch paperweights around, not even over here at the source,
so to speak. A lucky thrift shop find.

Four horizontal, merged trumpet flowers in red and black. Very fine sanded, unpolished base.
Measurement 4,05 x 1,85 inch (10,3 x 4,7 cm), weight 686 gr.

Hi Frank, Are you sure this is Emiel? I think more about his father. Father started the glassworks and Emiel later took over. Then left for Leerdam. The father used these labels. I'm very curious about your reaction

Hoi Luus,
Zeker… zeker? Nee, niet 100%
Op de onderstaande website wordt hetzelfde label toegekend aan Emil Pfeiffer

https://edelerfgoed.nl/artikel.php?id=767&selectie=3

altijd nieuwsgierig,
Frank

Hi Luus,
Sure sure? No, not 100%
On the website below the same label is awarded to Emil Pfeiffer
https://edelerfgoed.nl/artikel.php?id=767&selectie=3

Wherever I search, I only come across this label, no other. Judging from shelfwear and condition of the paperweight, the period '89 -2002 is very plausible. But, if you know more about it, I'd like to hear it.

always curious,
Frank

Recently I’ve found another Pfeiffer paperweight. It has a different style as the paperweight shown at the top.
I slowly start to understand your remark Luus, so thanks for pointing out my mistake.

If the first one has been made by senior, this one is probably made by junior  ;D

Measurement 2,60 x 2,63 inch (6,6 x 6,7 cm), weight 396 gr.
