Handkerchief vase ID please
« on: March 27, 2019, 06:24:03 PM »
Could this possibly be Krosno? Seen similar shape but none in same colour. Or is it not? China? It is unmarked. It's 25cm tall and weighs about 1.4kg. Not terribly heavy for its size in my opinion. Many thanks for your views. Petra

I have a very large stripey vase that is very similar in shape and finish. It's Tarnowiec, Polish.
I use it as a wastepaper bin. It's big enough for the floor and that purpose, and saves having to find space on a shelf to display it.  :)

I did buy it a very long time ago. I had a peek on the web, but then managed to find a pic of mine.
The angle it is taken from makes the base look wider.

However, I'm thinking yours is a good bit smaller and lighter in weight than mine is, now I've  checked your dimensions.  ???
(Mine is currently upstairs and I can't get there.)

Yes, agree it does look similar...
Is there a toilet roll inside yours? 🤣

Actually, just checked my vase properly again, it appears the inside bit could actually be spray painted (!!!) rather than blue glass!???!!! Didn't see that before...I guess that changes everything??? 🙄

:-[ Ooops, I didn't notice the rubbish inside it when I found the pic. It's a bathroom wastepaper bin. But it does give an idea of size. ;D

Sprayed on colour would definitely mean something quite different to art glass.
But it would mean you can use it as a bin without worrying at all. ;D

I had a similar one in clear glass (before I broke it ::) and occasionally put fairy lights in it, the ones with batteries when I didn't have flowers.  Looked rather nice.
