Manchester uranium Ker and Webb or Derbyshire?
« on: March 29, 2019, 07:54:06 AM »
Good morning,
I Would be grateful for any thoughts on this unmarked uranium piece. I have found similarities with both Derbyshire and Ker and Webb.
The central pattern in the circle is diamond point, I have seen a similar piece with the only difference being a sunflower. I’ve seen those in uranium and opaque blue the same blue colour as the pictures of Ker and Webb rd 263362 a similar item with the same base on Neil’s Molineaux and Webb’s website. On the same website A Derbyshire piece rd279532 has a very similar top rim and there seems to be several goblets.
I think this is a Ker and Webb piece? What do you think? Thanks Mike

I know Lustrousstone has things like this.  :)
I've found an image of a Derbyshire goblet from her online Gallery.

Thanks for that link Sue,( there’s a lot of glass on there) yes I seen that pattern on Neil’s website, both Edward Moore and Davidson also made similar. This one is heavy for its size, could it be lead crystal which I know nothing about. Thanks Mike

I suspect Christine might know more than I do. I've just admired her collection and been lucky enough to be able to handle a lot of it. These goblets are heavy. Lots of canary yellow Uranium glass seems to be lead crystal.
I'm sure Christine has a goblet more like yours, but it didn't turn up when I searched her Gallery for Derbyshire; this one did. :)

That one has (had; it commited suicide) a lozenge, so it is Derbyshire. I don't have one like yours Mike, except for one with a similar foot with the ring round it that I have speculated is Molineaux Webb from the foot similarity to registered designs
