Hello,

I have seen similar "glass bricks"- square as well as round shape- mounted
in concrete walls or roofs for ceiling day-lighting support, and as industrial
windows, if used in rows. Maybe an architect can sort out what kind of function it had?

kind regards, E.
EJM
