Please can you help identify the maker/artist?
« on: April 14, 2019, 02:19:24 PM »
Hi,

Please can anyone help identify the marker or artist of this double gourd shaped vase?

The height is 13 cms and max width is 9 cms.

Applied foot to the base with concave polished pontil.

There is a signature inside the pontil or possibly factory/studio name.

Clear glass base colour with two vertical rows of murrines red/black which appear red/purple when held in the light.

Looks and feels great quality.

I look forward to hearing from you and many thanks.

:)

Hi,

We also thought the first word could be Valentine but of course it may not be. Signatures are so difficult to read, sometimes you recognise the signature of a piece of glass purely by the form. This is one we have certainly not come across before.

Many thanks

:)

I'm not sure I've seen glass like that before.
It's (in general and overall) very like some West German ceramics.  :)

Maybe Valentina Murano perhaps a piece from Adriano Della Valentina.

Caveat - I know nothing about Murano glass and have no idea if the signature is correct though.

Hmm, I've modified the middle part of the name three times now - it could be 'Dalla' as that seems to come up on search.  Maybe Stefano Dalla Valentina?

Another piece here listed as 'for Oggetti'

You're welcome :)

However I think further investigation is needed.  Is it by Adriano or by Stefano for example?

You could try sending a picture to them to ask for information and if they recognise it.
Please do let us know if you do and they answer :)
